The Automated External Defibrillator (aed) - Miracle Enabler?
With the growing trend toward unhealthy lifestyles in the United States, Americans have been experiencing more and more health complications. There are over 1 million Americans who suffer from a heart attack each year. And in addition to that, about 300,000 Americans succumb to sudden cardiac death. Shockingly, of those 300,000, the sudden cardiac death was the first-ever sign of heart trouble.
These numbers and statistics are disquieting for any individual who wishes to preserve his or her life. To know that your heart could fail entirely, in an instant, at any given point in time illuminates the frailty of the body. Luckily, human ingenuity and creativity has devised ways for us to prevent such horrible things to recur. And when used properly, it could, perhaps, save a life.
