Communication And Pigs

Yes, it is true. No matter whether it is lipstick, perfume or a tuxedo, a pig is still a pig. However, it did stimulate me to think about the way that people communicate. You see, phenomenally successful people work constantly on their “people skills”. The first, and most critical, area is the relationships you have with others as well as what and how you COMMUNICATE in those relationships.

The 80-20 Rule

There is a proven statistic that can be applied to direct our activity towards the results that we desire. The statistical formula looks like this: 80% of our success comes from 20% of our activities. That means that 80% of our efforts contributes to only 20% of our success. When analyzing people who are struggling, it is quickly realized that they tend to focus on those activities that seem to generate the lowest results. Their day is consumed with the attending to those tasks which have little effect on the overall picture.

Confidence - Often The Difference Between Winning And Losing

Tiger Woods is considered the best golfer in the world. He has held this title for a number of years. His accomplishments on the golf course only reinforce the dominance over the best players in the world. There is nobody who is even close to the number of victories that he amassed over the last decade. However, what is it that makes him so much better? Is his golf game really that much superior to everyone else?

More Than Time Is Required To Bring About Radical Transformations

How often do we think that time will radically change people? No - only Jesus Christ can do that. How frequently does a woman think that after she is married, she will change her husband? There are many casualties regarding that one.

Turn with me to Acts Chapter 25 in the New Testament and let me explain clearly what I mean.

Festus the Governor of the region returns to Caesarea, having been in Jerusalem, and the trial of Paul begins all over again, after having been left to languish in prison for two years. I have been in Caesarea many times and it would not be a nice place to be left imprisoned and particularly when you had no idea how long this was going to last. It is hot humid and steamy.

How Can You Achieve Your Writing Goals In 2008?

First, you have to know what those goals are. Second, you need a plan. (Cue theme song from “Rocky.”) Whether you write full-time, part-time or when time permits, you need a business plan. Your business plan should include an Executive Summary. The goals you hope to achieve this year should comprise your executive summary. Let’s say yours looks like this:

Executive Summary: A) Complete novel. B) Sell ten articles to magazines. C) Attend one writers’ conference.

Next comes your Plan of Action. How do you plan to achieve these goals? I’ll prepare three model plans of action. POA1 is for those who write full-time. POA2 is for those who write part-time. POA3 is for those who write when time permits.

The Power Of “why” Or How Big Is Your “why”?

To be a successful networker, or a leader of any sort, you must first commit yourself to mastering the fundamentals. Get excited about practicing the fundamentals every day. Start with your motivation, since they key to success is actually located between your ears-your mind. Most networkers simply want to make a lot of money and like want to worry about such basic topics such as motivation.

Do You Turn Your Optimism On And Off?

There has been a myth floating around for a number of years that’s says, “if you act enthusiastic you will be come enthusiastic”. Yes and no.

If you tend to be enthusiastic when things age going well let me ask you – do you act just as enthusiastic when you are going down in flames and life is filled with problem after problem?

Why Are These People So Closed To The Christian Faith?

Do you ever find in life that some things are hard to see and accept?

After a two year ‘delay’ Paul finally arrives in Rome. We read all about in Acts Chapter 28, and after only three days, he is hard at work, using every available opportunity open to him.

Paul called for the Jewish leaders in Rome. Why the Jews? He begins first with those who should be able to understand - those of his own background - those who believed in God. He had done this in all the various centres which he has visited over these past twenty or so years.

We All Need A Little Help - Benefits Of Attending A Live Seminar

Many times in recent months I have been asked the same question in many different ways, all of which come down to the same baseline question, and that is simply to explain the huge benefits and mostly unseen advantages of attending a live seminar. That is to say a day when a number of like-minded people come together for education in the very same subject.
