Sports Is A Mugs Game

“I hate all sports as rabidly as a person who loves sports hates common sense.” - H. L. Mencken.

Sports, according to the latest census, is now the third-largest religion in the world. And like all religions, it is based on a set of highly questionable premises, one of them being: Life is a game.

All of us are born with the instinct to play, along with the instincts to feed, talk, and pack crayons up our noses, but we’re taught not to let any particular instinct become an obsession - except play.

Having Fun With Outdoor Sports

I love playing outdoor sports though all things considered I’m not much of a jock. The great thing about outdoors sports is that while enjoying a small dose of friendly competition, you can enjoy the boons nature bestow upon us as well as getting some good exercise. It’s a great way of spending quality time taking all things into account. To me going to the gym, workout on treadmills is a waste of time although a number of my friends opt for them. I could never understand the logic of spending time walking while watching a TV when you can play outdoor sports and have a fun time enjoying nature.

Why Do You Play Pool?

Why do you play pool? If you asked people that question, you’d probably come up with a lot of different answers. Some play for the fun of it, to hang out with good friends on a Friday night at the local pool hall and simply have a good time. Others may enjoy hustling a game of pool now and then by pretending to be a novice at the game, missing the break entirely, hitting a few wrong balls and then running the rack to the surprise and unhappiness of your chosen victim. Others may play for practice, hoping to bring their game up to the level of a Karen Corr or a Mike Massey. Then there are those who want to learn all the trick shots, as well as the skill and the artistic shots in order to awe all of their friends or impress the ladies. If you’re good enough to do a Color of Money Shot or a Johnny Archer Split, then you probably already know a lot about the game.

Win At Foosball - Without Cheating With Our Top Tips!

Foosball matters. It can win you respect or condemn you to derision. It is played in bars in front of friends and onlookers. Dummy a shot with the left-hand striker only to power in a clinical finish with the right-hand man to emerge victorious and you are a hero to your friends and look good to the ladies. Score an own goal that dribbles at a snail’s pace from your midfield past a flailing goalkeeper and you are a loser, mocked by men and pitied by women.

The Best In The Mlb

Now that the season is just above a quarter way over, there has been much excitement - and even a few surprises - that has given the fans something to talk about. Who would have thought that the Yankees would be almost 10 games back of their division rival Red Sox? Who would have imagined the Milwaukee Brewers dominating the NL Central? Do the St. Louis Cardinals of now really look like the defending world champions? In spite of all the action, here is a look at the four current best teams in baseball and how they will finish:

Softball Throwing Drills

The Throwing Skills to Pay the Bills

Of the key elements of a well-rounded softball player, a good throwing arm is definitely near the top of the list. While some are lucky enough to be born with throwing skills, even they won’t be hurt by softball throwing drills which aim to improve distance and accuracy.

When demonstrating these softball throwing drills, make sure to run through each drill at half speed first before increasing the pace. Also give every player who desires a chance to practice the motions slowly first. Not only will this reduce the chances of unnecessary injury, it will also allow the player to feel the correct way of doing things which will translate when the motions are sped up.
